This is a documentary of the dirtiest joke in the world. Basically it goes like this... "A man walks into a talent agent's office and tells him he's got a great act..." Then the comic goes on to describe the most vile act ever, trying as hard as he/she can to disgust and shock the audience and wraps it up with the punch line..."What do you call this act? The Aristocrats."
Did you laugh? I didn't either. Why? Because the punch line isn't what's funny. What makes this joke great is what the individual comic does in the middle. For an hour and a half I listened to the top comics in the world laughing hysterically at themselves as they tried to top each other with the crudest most vile images they could come up with for this family act. I heard more about incest, bodily functions, bestiality, racism... I could go on, but I have to keep my review clean and I've run out of non-X rated words. This film is "NR", but make no mistake...this is an adult film. I wouldn't be taking the kids to see it any time soon.
I laughed a lot. But it isn't the funniest thing I've ever seen either. I laughed more in "Wedding Crashers." But it is entertaining. If nothing else, I have a newfound respect for Bob Saget and the characters of "South Park" make a nice cameo.
The film has been dedicated to the memory of Johnny Carson, but after a movie like that...you never know when they're being sarcastic. I don't know if this is a joke Carson really liked and that's why they dedicated it to him, or if they were just making another joke.
